CHARACTER INFORMATION
⇒ Name: Ladanelan Lavellan
⇒ Age: 29
⇒ Canon: Dragon Age: Inquisition- video game
⇒ Canon Reference: The Inquisitor! Basic rundown
⇒ Canon Point: Post trespasser

⇒ Personality: Lavellan at the start of the game was very much an elf who Did Not Sign Up for this Shit. Even if his clan generally had a friendly relationship with humans, there's enough animosity between the two races as a whole that he maintains an underlying fear of them. Yet somehow he wound up being hailed as some herald of the human prophet, Andraste, and declared leader of a budding organization known as the Inquisition. All because he got some odd zappy green thing in his hand that can close Fade rifts.

So how does a lone elf handle being elevated to near demi-god like status and obscene political power? Puns and sarcasm, mostly. Once he got over the initial terror of being more or less held captive by humans, he understood that regardless of the bizarre circumstances, the matter at hand was far too pressing for him to simply ignore and flee. He does not believe himself to be what the "stuff of legends" is made from, and always makes an effort to remain himself... and this means jokes, puns, and sarcasm. Not only is it humbling, but a little light heartedness in the face of such a dire mission seems to be needed by everyone, and lifting spirits is something he genuinely enjoys.

One thing he does take seriously is his culture as a Dalish elf, as his upbringing has had a big effect on him. As the First to clan Lavellan, he was next in line to become the clan's leader, or "Keeper". This meant that when his powers as a mage surfaced he was taken by the Keeper and trained personally in the old lore of the Elves. He knows the stories, the language, bits of writing, the old magic, as well as how to lead. However this also means he did not train as a hunter as the other children his age did, thus he is far less adept at "outdoorsy things". This leads to taking some bad tumbles from various places outside and this in no way has anything to do with someone sucking at jumping puzzles. He's also got a habit of hoarding herbs. Such were considered valuable supplies by the Dalish, and thus in his travels with the Inquisition he collected any herbs he could find. A scout even jokingly mentions his "weird fixation with Elfroot".

Even while in Skyhold as the Leader of the Inquisition, he would always try to make decisions to help his people. Clown he may be, and as much as he wished to return to his clan, he hoped that perhaps this could bridge the gab between humans and Elves. He shifted the balance of power so that an Elf was the leader of Orlais (albeit behind the scenes).

Events from the game's progression has had an effect on him too. His clan was wiped out after helping to rid a human city of a mass red lyrium poisoning, which neighboring nobles mistook as an elven rebellion and attacked, despite the inquisition's attempt to intervene. Also the betrayal of Solas and discovering that he is Fen'harel, the one the Dalish regarded as the god of trickery. Solas revealed to him that the gods his people worshipped were not, in fact, gods at all. Simply individuals with great power. Shortly after this revelation, Solas was forced to remove Lavellan's arm because the mark that once granted him power had become too much and threatened to kill him. Political pressure also lead him to disband the Inquisition. Still, he continues to move forward as he had before, despite the losses he's suffered. He is wiser for it, and more wary, but remains the kind person he once was.

[World state choices for the game:

Generic Mage Things: Mages can be utilizes in summoning veilfire (the "memory of flame", it gives off no heat, and won't burn down a candle, but offers light), as well as moving things around and setting them appropriately, such as reassembling a collapsed stone bridge, or wooden stairs. All mages are capable of dreaming with complete coherency, and the Fade (the realm of dreams and spirits) is where they draw their power from.

Racial Benefits: Elves receive a natural boost in stats pertaining to magic, as well as a 25% boost in ranged defense (including magical projectiles). Elves also see a little better in the dark than humans do.

Vir'abelasan: Drank from the Well of Sorrows, meaning he's got a hint of the knowledge of the ancient Elvhen whispering to him. The problem is he doesn't 100% understand ancient Elvhen, so he can't always make sense of it. Also he's bound to the will of the Evanuris Mythal.

Ring of Doubt: Aside from being broken as all heck, most important thing to know is it allows the wearer to enter stealth when in combat.

⇒ Personal Effects:
•Armor
•Staff sword hilt... thing
•3 health potions
•3 Lyrium potions
•3 Jars of bees... and some wasps. (don't ask)

WRITTEN SAMPLE

[It hadn't exactly been the first time he had woken up apparently kidnapped by humans, but to be honest it was rather lackluster this time. Then again, what could stand up to waking up in shackles while the a pair of lovely and absolutely terrifying women questioned you? Now though it was like they had just dumped him in a tent then forgotten about him.

He had been free to roam the camp, and he didn't think he stuck out that much among the crowd. He wore armor as anyone else... though his did look rather fancy in comparison. Probably why he was getting the curious stares and whispers... either that or the ears. And elf of high standing? Still a novelty in most places it seemed.

He was content to simply go about and eavesdrop mostly to try and get handle on what was going on, until a very tiny little old woman came up to him asking if he could lend her a hand carrying her goods to her little tea shop. The opportunity was almost too good to pass up.
]

Well, as long as you don't need two I suppose I might be able to help.

[It took the elderly woman a moment to understand what he meant, his armor was bulky enough that his short handedness could go unnoticed for a time, though when people caught on they tended to panic. Like the little old woman was right now. That.... that actually made him feel a bit bad if he were honest.

Still, he just chuckled and tried to dismiss her concerns and apologies as he lifted the bundle onto his shoulder before she had a chance to protest his help.
